The Patagonia Packrafting Roundup will take place in Río Puelo, in the commune of Cochamó, Los Lagos Region, Chile.
Our base camp will be Camping Los Troncos, located beside the Puelo Chico River in the Valle Poicas area.
Río Puelo is a locality in the commune of Cochamó, in the province of Llanquihue, Los Lagos Region, Chile. It lies at the eastern end of the Reloncaví Estuary and serves as one of the main gateways to the inner Puelo area.
From Puerto Montt, the main road access is south along Route V-69, passing through Ensenada and Cochamó before reaching Río Puelo. The distance is approximately 115 km.
An alternative route from Puerto Montt is to drive to Caleta La Arena, take the ferry across to Caleta Puelche, and continue by road to Río Puelo.
From Río Puelo, access to Valle Poicas begins on Route V-725, beside the bridge over the Puelo Chico River. From there, a gravel road runs approximately 10 km into the valley, following the Puelo Chico River.
Camping Los Troncos is located near the end of this road and will serve as the base camp for the Patagonia Packrafting Roundup.

DRIVING THROUGH VALLE POICAS
During the Patagonia Packrafting Roundup, vehicle traffic on Route V-725 and the roads through Valle Poicas will temporarily increase. This is not typical of daily life in the valley. The road passes through inhabited areas where loose animals, including sheep, pigs and cows, are often found, as well as people living and travelling through the valley. Please drive slowly, remain alert and respect local residents, animals and private property.
Valle Poicas is home to a local community, and we want the Roundup to take place with respect for those who live here throughout the year.
Camping Los Troncos is located approximately 10 km along the road through Valle Poicas, beside the Puelo Chico River.
It will serve as the base camp for the Patagonia Packrafting Roundup and host many of the activities throughout the four-day gathering. The campsite offers camping areas, shared spaces and direct river access, allowing much of the event to take place in one location.
During the Roundup, it will be our main meeting point for participants, workshop leaders and collaborators.

During the Patagonia Packrafting Roundup, Puelo Siempre Verde will be one of our gathering places outside the base camp. We will meet here for an evening of wood-fired pizza, craft beer and time to connect with fellow participants, workshop leaders and collaborators. The venue will also host a session of the International Packraft Film Festival, featuring a selection of films and productions related to packrafting.
